1_ <br />REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 10, 1969 <br />January 31, 1969 <br />The Honorable Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Gentlemen: <br />The attached ordinance was originated by the Area Plan Commision and was legally advertised <br />under date of January 11 and 18 and given public hearing on January 21, 1969. The following <br />action was taken: <br />"After due consideration it was moved, seconded and carried that the ordinance <br />be recommended favorably to the Common Council." <br />Attached hereto and made a part of this report is an excerpt from the meeting. <br />Very truly yours, <br />John K. Wilson, <br />Executive Director <br />JKW /cas <br />Attach. <br />EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE AREA PLAN COMMISSION MEETING OF JANUARY 21, 1969 <br />A proposed ordinance originated by the Area Plan Commission to zone the following recently <br />annexed land "D" Light Industrial Use and "F" Height and Area District: The East 249 feet <br />of the West one -half of the Southwest one quarter of Section 33, (Airport Industrial Park.) <br />Mr. Kleva indicated that this property was recently annexed to the City and that it is a por- <br />tion of Phase II of the Airport Industrial Park. The zoning property would conform with the <br />zoning on the remainder of the park. <br />It was moved by Mr. Sharp, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried that the ordinance be recom- <br />mended favorably to the Common Council. <br />REPORT OF CITY CONTROLLER <br />A corrected report for the Year 1968 was submitted by City Controller James A. Bickel. The <br />report was accepted as submitted. Mr. Bickel stated that the December report submitted <br />at the January 24th Council meeting was correct as submitted. <br />Councilman Reinke asked Mr. Bickel to explain the account "Track Elevation ". Mr. Bickel <br />explained that it was a tax levy authorized in 1954 at five cents per $100.00 tax valuation <br />and it was intended to build up funds for a new overpass at Olive and Sample Street but was <br />never used. He announced that City Engineer Lloyd Taylor has been working on plans for an <br />overpass. Councilman Laven made a motion to accept the report from the Controller <br />Councilman Craven seconded the motion. Motion Carried. <br />REPORT OF COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your Committee of the Whole to whom was referred "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN <br />THE WATERWORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND INLAND CHEMICAL CORPORATION, SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF AN ASSORTMENT OF CHEMICALS FOR USE FROM FEBRUARY7, 1969 <br />TO FEBRUARY 7, 1970 IN THE AMOUNT OF $26,972.50, AS AMENDED. <br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the <br />Ordinance go to the Council favorable as amended. <br />/s/ William W.
