<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, met in the Council Chambers
<br />in City Hall on Monday, December 9, 1968 at 8:13 P.M., seven members present, two members absent, Council-
<br />man Palmer and Councilman Reinke. The meeting was called to order by President Robert 0. Laven, who
<br />presided.

<br />PRESENT: Councilman Laven, Allen, Craven, Grounds,
<br />Szymkowiak, Wise and Zielinski.
<br />ABSENT: Councilman Palmer and Reinke.
<br />TO: THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA
<br />The petitioners, JAMES P. LOCKER AND LYLE D. BURNSIDE, respectfully petition that the following described
<br />real estate in Clay Township, St. Joseph County, Indiana, to -wit:
<br />Part of the S.W. 1/4 of Section 31, Twp. 38N. of the 2nd P.M.,
<br />St. Joseph County, Indiana, more particularly described as
<br />follows: Beginning at a point on the N line of the said S.W.
<br />1/4 of the S.E. 1/4 of Sec. 31, 450.80 ft. E. of the N.W. corner
<br />thereof; thence N. 89 054'40 "E. along said N. line a distance of
<br />1127.50 feet to a point; thence S. 34 032'40 "W. a distance of
<br />618.43 ft. to a point; thence N. 55 027'20 "W. a distance of 130.00
<br />ft. to a point; thence S. 34 032'40 "W. a distance of 150.00 ft. to
<br />a point; thence S. 55 027'20 "E. a distance of 130.00 ft. to the
<br />W'ly line of Indiana State Road No. 23 (Edwardsburg Highway);
<br />thence S. 34 °32'40 "W. along said W'ly line of said Highway a dis-
<br />tance of 227.35 ft. to a point; thence N. 55 027'20 "W. a distance
<br />of 131.55 ft. to a point; thence S. 34 032'40 "W. a distance of
<br />108.30 ft. to a point; thenc N. 00 °06'02 "W. a distance of 201.37
<br />ft. to a point; thence S. 89 54'40 "W. a distance of 374.06 ft. to
<br />a point; thence N. 00 001'38 "E. a distance of 659.36 ft. to the
<br />point of beginning,
<br />be annexed to and declared to be part of the incorporated City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />Petitioners further state that said real estate is contiguous and adjacent to said City of South Bend,
<br />and that petitioners are the owners or have such interest in said real estate that qualifies said
<br />petitioners to request the annexation thereof.
<br />Petitioners further state that they have attached hereto a form of Ordinance-'for the convenience, use
<br />and approval of the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana.
<br />WHEREFORE, petitioners respectfully request that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana
<br />accept and act favorably upon their said petition, and that the above described real estate be annexed
<br />to and declared to be a part of the incorporated Ciey of South Bend, Indiana.

<br />WORKS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND TONY VASQUEZ, HAMMOND, INDIANA, FOR THE REMOVAL OF A
<br />CHIMNEY LOCATED AT NORTH PUMPING STATION, 830 NORTH MICHIGAN STREET, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA IN THE
<br />AMOUNT OF #5,500.00
<br />Respectfully report that they have examined the matter and that in their opinion the Ordinance go to the
<br />Council as favorable.
