NOVEMBER 25, 1968 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Council Chambers in <br />City Hall on Monday, November 25, 1968 at 8:20 P.M., nine members present, none absent. The meeting was <br />called to order by President Robert 0. Laven, who presided. <br />ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilman Laven, Allen, Craven, Reinke, Grounds, <br />Szymkowiak, Wise, Palmer, and Zielinski. <br />ABSENT: None <br />COMMUNICATIONS <br />November 18, 1968 <br />Common Council of the City of South Bend <br />c/o Clerk, City of South Bend <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Re: Petition for Rezoning <br />St. Joseph Valley Nursing Home, Inc. <br />Real Estate located at 3004 E. Edison <br />Dear Ladies and Gentlemen of the Common Council: <br />For and on behalf of, and as attorney for, the petitioner, St. Joseph Valley Nursing Home, Inc., we respect- <br />fully request that the petition presented on behalf of the Corporation to your body for the rezoning of the <br />tract of land located at 3004 East Edison Road be withdrawn. <br />Practical difficulties, making the completion of the development of the tract in accordance with the plat plan <br />which we had attached to our petition for rezoning within the near future unlikely, motivate this request. <br />A similar petition for the withdrawal of any further consideration of this petition has been forwarded to the <br />Area Plan Commission, to whom you referred consideration and hearing on the ordinance. Motion carried. <br />COMMUNICATION <br />November 20, 1968 <br />South Bend Common Council <br />City Hall <br />South Bend, Indiana <br />Dear Gentlemen and Mrs. Allen: <br />Please be advised that on September 9, 1968, your Council denied the Petition to Rezone from Residential to <br />Commercial use real estate located on the north side of Ireland Road east of U.S. 31 for the purpose of building <br />an Ayr -Way Discount Store. <br />On September 18, 1968, the representatives of the Ayr -Way Store informed Mr. and Mrs. Lewis V. West that they <br />were cancelling their option to purchase the real estate owned by Mr. and Mrs. West and were terminating the <br />option. <br />
