REGULAR MEETING APRIL 22, 1974 REGULAR MEETING - RECONVENED (CONTINUED) REPORTS FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION The Honorable Common Council City of South Bend County -City Building South Bend, Indiana 46601 April 17, 1974 In Re: A proposed ordinance and site development plan of Hudson D. and Dorothy M. Firestone to zone from "A" Residential, "A" Height and Area, to "E" Light Industrial, "A" Height and Area, property located at 4201 South Main Street, City of South Bend. Gentlemen: The attached petition of Hudson D. and Dorothy M. Firestone was legally advertised April 6, 1974, and April 13, 1974. The Area Plan Commission gave it a public hearing on April 16, 1974, at which time the following action was taken: "A motion by Robert Lehman was seconded by Joseph Bajdek to favorably recommend the petition of Hudson D. and Dorothy M. Firestone to zone from "A" Residential, "A" Height and Area, to "E" Light Industrial, "A" Height and Area, property located at 4201 South Main Street, City of South Bend, subject to a final site plan. The Area Plan Commission finds this to be a transitional area with many sites going from residential to commercial, much of the property is being converted to parking lots for commercial sites and the Land Use Plan identifies this location for non - residential uses. Mr. Lehman's motion was then carried unanimously." The above recommendation is made subject to a final site plan and the preliminary site plan is attached hereto. The deliberations of the Area Plan Commission and points considered in arriving at the above decision are shown in the minutes and will be forwarded to you at a later date to be made a part of this report. Johnson Executive Director * * * * * * * * * * April 17, 1974 In Re: A proposed ordinance and site development plan of Place and Company, Inc. to zone from "A -2" Planned Residential Development, to "A" Residential, "A" Height and Area, property located at and bounded on the east by Ironwood Drive, on the north by the South Bend City Water Works and other property and on the west and south by sections of Scottsdale Addition, City of South Bend. Gentlemen: The attached rezoning petition of Place and Company, Inc. was legally advertised April 6, 1974, and April 13, 1974. The Area Plan Commission gave it a public hearing on April 16, 1974, at which time the following action was taken: "A motion by Joseph Bajdek was seconded by Joseph Simeri to favorably recommend the petition of Place and Company, Inc. to zone from "A -2" Planned Residential Development, to "A" Residential, "A" Height and Area, property located at and bounded on the east by Ironwood Drive, on the north by the South Bend City Water Works and other property and on the west and south by sections of Scottsdale Addition, City of South Bend. The Area Plan Commission finds this proposal to be consistent with the Land Use Plan and is a logical extension of the zoning in that area. Mr. Bajdek's motion was then carried unanimously."
