REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 14, 1972 Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, February 14, 1972 at 8:02 p.m. The meeting was called to order by President Peter J. Nemeth who then asked everyone to stand and give the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. ROLL CALL PRESENT: Councilmen Serge, Szymkowiak, Miller, Parent, Taylor, Kopczynski, Horvath, Newburn and Nemeth. ABSENT: None RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE Council President Nemeth entertained a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole. Councilman Parent so moved seconded by Councilman Miller. Motion carried. COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE MEETING Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana met in the Committee of the Whole in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, February 14, 1972 at 8:04 p.m. with nine members present. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Odell Newburn, who presided. AT07034ky I KW AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 - CHAPTER 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE (FORMERLY ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702). (4001 and 4015 SOUTH MAIN STREET) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Douglas Carpenter, representing the Area Plan Commission, reported that th4s site is to be used for a Post Office Sub - Station and that the Area Plan Commission was recommending its approval. Councilman Parent made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable, seconded by Councilman Taylor. Motion carried. ORDINANCE AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND SUPPLEMENTING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, CHAPTER 40 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FORMERLY REFERRED TO AS ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 3702, AS AMENDED. (18389 EDISON ROAD) This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above ordinance, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard thereon. Mr. Douglas Carpenter, of the Area PlAh Commistion, reported that this site is located at Edison Road and Indiana #23 and is presently being used as a barber shop and a residence and that the owner is requesting this change. Councilman Taylor made a motion that the Ordinance go to the Council as favorable seconded by Councilman Parent. Motion carried. There being no further business to be considered before the Committee of the Whole, Chairman Newburn entertained a motion to rise and report to the Council, so moved by Councilman Taylor, seconded by Councilman Szymkowiak.
