<br />BILL NO. 52 -79 A BILL APPROVING CONTRACTS BETWEEN THE BUREAU OF WATER 
<br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND (1) BASNEY FORD, 
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; (2) GATES CHEVROLET, SOUTH BEND, 
<br />INDIANA; AND (3) SHAMROCK FORD, SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, 
<br />FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN MOTOR VEHICLES IN THE TOTAL 
<br />AMOUNT OF $48,671.07. 
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to set this bill for public 
<br />hearing and second reading May 29, 1979, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion 
<br />carried. 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6585 -79 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF A LEASE 
<br />AND TRUST INDENTURE AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE 
<br />BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF PERTAINING. 
<br />TO ADAMS ENGINEER, INC. PROJECT. 
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the 
<br />above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder, 
<br />attorney for the Economic Development Commission, made the presentation for the bill. He in- 
<br />dicated this.bond issue would be used for the acquisition of machinery. He said this company 
<br />will employ approximately four new people. Council Member Kopczynski asked what type of machine 
<br />was going to be purchased. Mr. Conrad Adams, president of Adams Engineering, indicated it was a 
<br />boring mill. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council 
<br />Member Dombrowski. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. 
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6586 -79 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF LOAN AGREEMENT 
<br />AND TRUST INDENTURE, REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE AND INDUSTRIAL 
<br />DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION 
<br />THEREOF PERTAINING TO ARNOLD C. AND DELORES GILMAN PROJECT. 
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretofore set for public hearin gon the above 
<br />bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder, 
<br />attorney for the Economic Development Commission, made the presentation for the bill. He in- 
<br />dicated this bond issue would be used for acquisition of land and exisiting facilities located 
<br />at 413 W. Jefferson Blvd. He said this facility will initially employ approximately five people. 
<br />Council Member Dombrowski made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski.

<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6587 -79 AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF LOAN AGREEMENT AND 
<br />TRUST INDENTURE, REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT 
<br />REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF PERTAINING 
<br />TO THE MISHAWAKA FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION. 
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above 
<br />bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder, 
<br />attorney for the Economic Development Commission, made the presentation for the bill. He in- 
<br />dicated this bond issue would be used for acquisition of land and improvements to facilities 
<br />located at 2425 Mishawaka Avenue. He said this facility will employ approximately four new 
<br />employees. Council Member Dombrowski made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council 
<br />Member ADams. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes.

<br />BE ADMINISTERED BY THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM AND THE 
<br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.

<br />DISCOVERY HALL MUSEUM, TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH 
<br />BEND THROUGH ITS DEPARTMENT OF ADMINISTRATION AND FINANCE. 
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Miller made a motion to set this bill for public 
<br />hearing and second reading May 29, 1979, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried.

<br />Report from Area Plan - Union Station 
<br />"Upon a motion by Joseph Serge, being seconded by Joseph Simeri, and 
<br />unanimously carried, the petition of Mary Chris Adams, Councilman, 
<br />to include the Union Station property in the area of the central 
<br />business district excluded from certain provisions of the Controlled 
<br />Use Ordinance, City of South Bend, is returned to the Common Council 
<br />with a favorable recommendation, by the Area Plan Commission." 
<br />Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public hearing and second reading 
<br />May 29, 1979, seconded by Council Member Miller. The motion carried.
