<br />Council Member Miller made a motion to suspend the rules and have public hearing and second
<br />reading on items B, C, D, F, I, J and K on the Agenda, seconded by Council Member ADams. The
<br />motion carried on 'a roll call vote of nine ayes.

<br />A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY
<br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (700.37' WEST OF THE
<br />NORTHEAST CORNER OF IRELAND AND IRONWOOD.)
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Miller made a motion to refer this bill and petitioi
<br />to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Adams. The motion carried.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6581 -79
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS of TRUST INDENTURE
<br />AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING
<br />THE EXECUTION THEREOF PERTAINING TO THE KOONTZ - WAGNER
<br />ELECTRIC COMPANY, INC. PROJECT.
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretofore set forpublic hearing on the above
<br />bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to-be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder,
<br />attorney for the Economic Development, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this
<br />bond issue would be used for acquisition of land to expand this facility. He said they would
<br />employ approximately 46 new employees. Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to pass this
<br />bill, seconded by Council Member Adams. The bill passed by a roll'call vote of nine ayes.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6582 -79
<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF TRUST INDENTURE,
<br />REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE AND INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS,
<br />AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF AND THE FILING OF A STATE-
<br />MENT PURSUANT TO THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE RELATING TO THE
<br />SOUTH BEND PRECISION PRODUCTS CORPORATION PROJECT.
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above
<br />bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder,
<br />attorney for the Economic Development Commission, made the presentation for the bill. He in-
<br />dicated this bond issue would be used to purchase land and construct 'a facility at 515 W.
<br />Ireland Road. He said this facility will initially employ approximately eleven new people.
<br />Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Adams. The
<br />bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes.

<br />AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FORM AND TERMS OF A LOAN AGREEMENT
<br />AND TRUST INDENTURE, REAL ESTATE MORTGAGE AND INDUSTRIAL
<br />DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION THEREOF
<br />PERTAINING TO THE WELTEK, INC. PROJECT.
<br />This bill had first reading. This being the time heretoforse set for public hearing, proponents
<br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. Kenneth Fedder, attorney for the
<br />Economic Development Commission, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this bond
<br />issue would be used to acquire land and construct a facility located in the Airport Industrial
<br />Park. He said this facility will initally employ approximately ten people. Council Member
<br />Kopczynski made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The bill
<br />passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes
<br />BILL NO. 49 -79 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN

<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member ADams made a motion to refer this bill and petition
<br />to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion.carried.
<br />ORDINANCE NO. 6584 -79 AN ORDINANCE TRANSFERRING $27,500 FROM ACCOUNT 324 (OTHER
<br />GARAGE AND MOTOR) INTO ACCOUNT 252 (EQUIPMENT REPAIR
<br />CONTRACTUAL) WITHIN THE BUDGET OF THE BUREAU OF VEHICLE
<br />MAINTENANCE, CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
<br />This bill had.`first reading._ This:-being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above
<br />bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mr. John Stancati,
<br />Director of Utilities, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this bill should be
<br />amended in the title to indicated Bureau of Vehicle Maintenance, instead of Street. Council
<br />Member Taylor made a motion to amend this bill, seconded by Council Member Kopczynski. The
<br />motion carried. Mr. Stancati indicated this transfer was necessary in order to repair trucks.
<br />Council Member Kopczynski made a motion to pass this bill, as amended, seconded by Council Member
<br />Adams. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes.

<br />A BILL.APPROVING A CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BUREAU OF WATER OF
<br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AND; (1) VAN WATERS & ROGERS,
<br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA; (a) JONES CHEMICALS, INC., BEECH GROVE,
<br />INDIANA; (3) WATCON, INC., SOUTH BEND, INDIANA FOR THE PUR-
<br />CHASE OF CHEMICALS FOR USE FROM JUNE 1, 1979 TO JUNE 1, 1980
<br />IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $49,937:/50.
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to set this bill for public
<br />hearing and second reading May 29, 1979, seconded by Council Member Miller. The motion carried.
