<br />RESOLUTION NO. 628 -78 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING $40,220.00 FROM
<br />ACCOUNT 722.0 MOTOR EQUIPMENT, TO ACCOUNT
<br />726.0 OTHER EQUIPMENT, ALL ACCOUNTS BEING
<br />WITHIN THE SAME MAJOR CLASSIFICATION OF THE
<br />MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY SPECIAL DISTRIBUTION
<br />BUDGET OF THE MOTOR VEHICLE HIGHWAY SPECIAL
<br />DISTRIBUTION FUND OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA, ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT
<br />OF PUBLIC WORKS
<br />WHEREAS, certain extraordinary conditions have developed since the adoption of the exist-
<br />ing budget, so that it is now necessary to appropriate more money than was originally appropriat-
<br />ed in the budget for the various functions of City Government to meet such extraordinary condit-
<br />ions, and
<br />WHEREAS, additional funds are needed for Account 726.0, Other Equipment, to enable the
<br />Department of Public Works to properly perform its functions; and
<br />WHEREAS, a surplus exists in another account where it is not presently needed. This surpl
<br />is shown more specifically as follows, to -wit:
<br />$40,220.00 in Account 722.0, Motor Equipment
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />SECTION I: That the Account 722.0, Motor Equipment, be reduced by $40,220.00, and of this
<br />$40,220.00, e appropriated and transferred to 726.0, Other Equipment.
<br />SECTION II: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage
<br />by the Common Council and its approval by the Mayor.

<br />A public hearing was held at this time on this resolution. Mr. Michael Vance, Deputy Controller,
<br />indicated that this transfer will enable the Street Department to purchase snow removal equip-
<br />ment, primarily plows and associated hydraulic systems. Council Member Dombrowski made a.motion
<br />to adopt this resolution, seconded by Council Member Szymkowiak. The resolution was adopted by
<br />a roll call vote of seven ayes.

<br />DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS, AND AUTHORIZING THE
<br />EXECUTION THEREOF PERTAINING TO CHAR - KING, INC.
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for public
<br />hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion
<br />carried.
<br />BILL NO. 109 -78 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68; AS AMENDED, COMMONLY
<br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (NORTHEAST CORNER OF
<br />PLEASANT AND IRONWOOD,. CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY,
<br />INDIANA).
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to refer this bill and
<br />petition to Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried.
<br />BILL NO. 110 -78 A BILL APPROPRIATING $53,000.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
<br />BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR VARIOUS PUBLIC WORKS PROJECTS TO BE
<br />ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH THE DIVISION
<br />OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS.
<br />This will had first reading. Council Member Adams made a motion to set this bill for public
<br />hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member. Dombrowski. The motion
<br />carried.
<br />BILL NO. 111 -78 A BILL APPROPRIATING $2,126,000.00 FROM THE COMMUNITY
<br />DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND (URGENT NEEDS GRANT) FOR
<br />THE "MINI- MALL" PROJECT TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE
<br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, THROUGH ITS DIVISION OF
<br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT AND THE DEPARTMENT OF REDEVELOP -
<br />MENT.
<br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for public
<br />hearing and second reading July 24, 1978, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion
<br />carried.
