PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR
Mrs. Jane Swan, 2022 Swygart, indicated she was happy to see that Walker Field's tennis courts
were going to be lighted. She indicated that Walker Field was used extensively for soft ball
games. She indicated that there were broken beer bottles and cans strewn around the field. She
said if possible, the teams should be forced to pay enough to have the place cleaned after games
Mr. James Seitz, Superintendent of Parks, indicated he agreed with Mrs. Swan, and said this had
been a problem in a lot of other parks. He said by increasing the Park Security Force he hoped
some'of the problem could be corrected. He said it seemed that drinking was primary to a lot of
ball teams. Council Member Horvath indicated that perhaps when the teams signed up next year,
it should be made clear that they are not to litter.
