Northeast Neighborhood Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />sets the offering price for the property at <br />$8,000. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Blake, seconded by <br />Dr. Varner and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2473 <br />related to acquisition of property in the <br />NNDA (1030 Georgiana) <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2474 approving and <br />accepting a counter offer for the <br />acquisition of property in the NNDA (1030 <br />Georgiana) <br />Mr. Schalliol noted that the NNRO acts as <br />the Commission's agent for these <br />acquisitions. They negotiated with Simon & <br />Wilmae Love who have made a counter offer <br />in the amount of $20,000. That value is <br />similar to what is being paid for other <br />properties in the area. Staff recommends <br />accepting the counter offer. <br />Ms. Jones asked how the budget for these <br />acquisitions is holding up with these counter <br />offers. Mr. Schalliol responded that there is <br />about $265,000 remaining in this year's <br />budget. After this round of purchases staff <br />will determine its acquisition strategy for the <br />remainder of the properties: whether to go <br />after the Housing Authority properties, which <br />have a somewhat negotiated price already, or <br />to go after the other private properties.
