Option funds currently planned <br />at approximately $45,000 with an additional sum reflected in a transfer ordinance <br />pending with the Council. Council Member Serge made a motion to recommend this bill <br />to the Council favorable, seconded byCouncil Member Beck. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 69 -83 <br />A BILL CREATING POSITIONS AND FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND <br />WAGES OF EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS <br />NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT SUPPLEMENTAL COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS UNDER PUBLIC LAW 98 -8. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Colleen Rosenfield, Director of <br />Community Development, made the presentation for the bill. She indicated this bill <br />would authorize positions and set the maximum salary.for the positions, which are; <br />activities outlined in the °Jobs Bill Applications. She indicated that three,positions <br />were necessary in order to conduct the Neighborhood Paint -up Program; the Youth Service <br />bureau position would be filled during the summer months of 1983 and 1984; and the. <br />Rent- ArTeen Coordinator is planned as a full -time position. Council Member''S`zymkowiak <br />made a: motion to- .recommend_ this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council <br />Member Beck.
