James Seitz, Superintendent <br />of Parks, this grant was needed to provide landscaping funds for the East Race Project. <br />Council "Member Serge made a motion to adopt this resolution, seconded by Council <br />Member Voorde. The resolution was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />BILLS, FIRST READING <br />BILL NO. 38 -83 A BILL VACATING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: THE SECOND <br />ALLEY WEST OF HARRIS STREET RUNNING SOUTH FROM POLAND STREET, <br />WHICH IS WITHIN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, <br />INDIANA. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Zielinski made a motion to set this bill <br />for public hearing and second reading June 13,1983, and refer it to the Zoning and <br />Vacations Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 39 -83 A BILL APPROPRIATING $20,500.00 FROM COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br />BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONDUCTING A NEIGHBORHOOD <br />PAINT -UP PROGRAM TO BE ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DIVISION OF <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill <br />for public hearing and second reading June 13, 1983, and refer it to the Human Resources <br />and Economic Development Committee, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion <br />carried. <br />BILL NO. 40 -83 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $60,500 FROM THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL <br />SERVICES FUND FOR CAPITAL EQUIPMENT AND REPAIRS. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Crone made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading June 13, 1983, and refer it to the Public Safety <br />Committee, seconded by Council Member Taylor.. The motion carried. <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council'Member Zielinski made a motion to set Bill No. 20 -83 for public hearing and <br />second rading June 27, 1983, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Crone made a motion to set Bill No. 35 -83 for public hearing and second <br />reading, June 13, 1983, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />Mr. James Seitz, Superintendent of Parks, gave a progress report concerning the Fredricks <br />House. He indicated there were insufficient assets to build a park, and it will <br />depend upon the 1st Source Bank on a decision concerning the house. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member McGann.
