1p- as' REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 27, 1982 BILLS, SECOND READING BILL NO, 94 -82 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO..4990 -$8, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (935 S. IRONWOOD.) This bill had second reading. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to defeat.this; bill, seconded by Council Member Serge. The bill was defeated by a roll call vote of eight ayes and one nay (Council Member Taylor.) ORDINANCE NO. 7102 -82 AN ORDINANCE TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: THE 1ST NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY WEST OF MICHIGAN STREET RUNNING NORTH FROM THE NORTH RIGHT -OF -WAY OF THE 1ST EAST -WEST ALLEY NORTH OF MADISON STREET FOR A DISTANCE OF.132' MORE. OR LESS TO THE PROJECTED RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF THE MICHIGAN - MAIN CONNECTOR ADJACENT TO LOTS 166, 167 AND LOTS 158, 159 OF THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF SOUTH BEND. ALSO, THE 1ST EAST - WEST ALLEY NORTH OF MADISON STREET RUNNING WEST FROM A POINT 6' WEST OF THE 1ST NORTH -SOUTH ALLEY WEST OF MICHIGAN STREET TO THE EAST RIGHT -OF -WAY LINE OF THE.MICHIGAN -MAIN CONNECTOR ADJACENT TO LOTS 165 AND 166 OF THE ORIGINAL PLAT OF SOUTH BEND. This bill had second reading. Council Member Crone made a motion to amend this bill as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to pass this bill as amended, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. ORDINANCE NO. 7103 -82 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $37,800.00 FROM THE EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES FUND FOR CAPITAL EQUIPMENT AND REPAIRS WITHIN THE FIRE DEPARTMENT. This bill had second reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. ORDINANCE NO. 7104 -82 AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE SOUTH BEND REGIONAL POLICE ACADEMY FUND. This bill had second reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. ORDINANCE NO. 7105 -82 AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $50,490.00 FROM THE LOCAL EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY FUND TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND THROUGH ITS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION AND DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN RESOURCES AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. This bill had second reading. Council Member Serge.made a motion to pass this bill, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine ayes. RESOLUTIONS RESOLUTION NO. 993 -82 AN INDUCEMENT RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, RELATING TO: AMW, INC., PROJECT. WHEREAS, at the present time there are insufficient employment opportunities and insufficient diversification of business, commerce and industry in and near the City of South Bend, Indiana (the "City "); and WHEREAS, the economic welfare of economic development facilities Code 18 -6 -4.5 (the "Act "); and WHEREAS, AMW, Inc., a Delawar economic development facilities in the City will finance the costs of the Act; and of the City would be benefited by the acquisition in the City pursuant to the provisions of Indiana Corporation, ( "AMW, Inc. ") proposes to acquire the City of South Bend as defined in the Act if.. such economic development facilities pursuant to WHEREAS, the South Bend Economic Development Commission has received an application by AMW, Inc. for the issuance of City ofSouth Bend Economic Development Bonds in an approximate amount of Three Million Five Hundred Thousand and no /100 Dollars ($3,500,000. repayable upon terms governed by exisiting market rates at the time such bonds are issued in order to acquire manufacturing equipment and fixtures for the purpose of the corporation conducting the business of manufacturing automobiles in the City resulting in improving and promoting job opportunities and commercial diversification int he City of South Bend, Indiana.
