REGULAR MEETING tiuGUst 9, 1982 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Council <br />Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, August 9, 1982, at 7:00 p.m. The <br />meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Serge, Szymkowiak Beck, Taylor, <br />Zielinski, Crone, Harris, Voorde and McGann <br />Absent: None <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB - COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your sub - committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would res- <br />pectfully report that it has inspected the minutes of the July 26, 1982, meeting of <br />the Council and found them correct. <br />The sub - committee, therefore, recommends that the same be approved. <br />s/ Lewis A. Crone <br />Council Member Serge made a motion that the minutes of the July 26, 1982, meeting of <br />the Council be accepted and placed on file, seconded by Council Member Zielinski. <br />The motion carried. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to set a Council meeting for August 30, at 5:00 <br />p.m., for the purpose of passing the budget, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The <br />motion carried. <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to appoint Richard Pfeil to serve as the Council's <br />appoint to the TRANSPO Board, seconded by Council Member Voorde. The motion carried. <br />Council Member Taylor indicated that the mayor had an appointment coming up to this <br />Board, and he asked the City Clerk to send a letter to the mayor indicating that the <br />Council would be pleased if he would choose Steven Lobdell as his appontment to this <br />Board. <br />..REPORTS <br />Council Member Voorde indicated that the Human Resources and Economic Development <br />Committee had met and discussed all resolutions on the Agenda. He indicated that <br />with the exception of 9D, tax abatement for 119 N. Michigan, they all received a <br />favorable recommendation. <br />i� <br />Council Member Beck indicated that the Residential Neighborhood Committee had met } <br />regarding Bill No. 60 -82, rezoning for the Osteopathic Hospital, and recommended it <br />unfavorable to the Council. of <br />Council Member Crone indicated that the Personnel & Finance Committee had met regarding <br />j Bill No. 79 -82, regarding Paraphernalia, and with the amendments that will be introduced, <br />they recommended it favorable. ! <br />r <br />{ I <br />
