REGULAR MEETING <br />JULY 12, 1982 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Coun- <br />cil Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, July 12, 1982, at 7:00 p.m. The <br />meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Szymkowiak Taylor, Zielinski, <br />Crone, Voorde and McGann <br />Absent: Council Members Serge and Beck <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB - COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />Your sub - committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would res- <br />pectfully report that it has inspected the minutes of the June 28, 1982, meeting of <br />the Council and found them correct. <br />The sub - committee, therefore, recommends that the same be approved. <br />/s/ Lewis A. Crone <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion that the minutes of the June 28, 1982, meeting <br />of the Council be accepted and placed on file, seconded by Council Member Zielinski. <br />The motion carried. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />RESOLUTION -NO. 9:70. -82 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA COMMENDING RICHARD C. DOMBROWSKI FOR HIS <br />SEVEN YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE AS A COUNCILMAN -AT- LARGE. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that <br />Richard C. Dombrowski has diligently served the citizens of our City since 1976; and <br />WHEREAS, during this period of time, Councilman Dombrowski has earned the re- <br />putation of speaking out on behalf of his constitutents on critical issues; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council recognizes with pride some of Councilman Dombrowski's <br />many contributions such as: co- sponsoring the ordinance calling for citizen members <br />on Council committees, sponsoring the abandoned vehicle bill, sponsoring the scrap <br />and junk yard laws sponsoring the truck route law, sponsoring the truck route law, <br />sponsoring the food vending law requiring safety flashers on all such vehicles, and <br />sponsoring the Bill requiring licensing of automotive repair and service centers. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council will long remember Councilman Dombrowski's work as <br />"Ruler and Master" of the ad hoc junk yard committee and the heated debates where <br />the neighbors interests were being balanced against businesses. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council further will remembered Councilman Dombrowski as a <br />dedicated public servant who is extremely proud his Polish ancestry. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana as follows: <br />SECTION I. On behalf of the citizens of South Bend, Indiana, the Common Coun- <br />cil hereby publicly commends and thanks Councilman Richard C. Dombrowski for his <br />seven years of dedicated service as a Councilman -at- Large. <br />
