REGULAR MEETING <br />MAY 10, 1982 <br />BILL NO. 49 -82 A BILL DESIGNATING AND ESTABLSHING AN HISTORIC LANDMARK <br />UNDER ORDINANCE NO. 5565 -73, AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, <br />AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND (518 NORTH LAFAYETTE BLVD.) <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Beck made a motion to refer this bill to <br />Area Plan, seconded by Council Member Zielinski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 50 -82 A BILL AMENDING SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 21, <br />s <br />ARTICLE 6.5, ENTITLED HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION. <br />This bill had first reading. <br />bill Area Plan, seconded by Council 1Member eDombrowksi. made <br />The motionocarrried. this <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br />Council Member Voorde_ made a motion to refer Bill No. 38 -82 to the Personnel and <br />Finance Committee, seconded by Council Member Crone. The motion carried. <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />Jane Swan, 1706 S. Walnut, discussed the bids on the new fire trucks and equipment. <br />She indicated some of this equipment was too sophisticated for the size of our city. <br />Clifford Ades, 1318 Elliott, Rev. David Smaltz <br />Church, Mrs. Charles Ades, 1318 Elliott, and LeslietDoty, 3502FLincolnway West, spoke <br />aginst disarmament of nuclear weaponry. T. Brooks Brademas, spoke regarding non - <br />cooperation he is receiving from the city government, as well as the Transpo lot, and <br />the Studebaker museum. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, unfinished or new, Coun- <br />cil Member Taylor made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Voorde.
