<br />BILL NO. 58 -81 A BILL APPPROPRIATING $55,000.00 FROM THE SELF - INSURANCE
<br />FUND FOR THE PAYMENT OF INSURANCE CLAIMS TO BE ADMINISTERED
<br />BY THE SELF - INSURANCE DEPARTMENT.
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents
<br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Sherrie Petz, Deputy Control-
<br />ler, made the presentation for the bill. She indicated this appropriation will pro-
<br />vide for $55,000 in the "refunds, awards, indemnities" line item in the City's self -
<br />insurance funds. She indicated this line item was being created at the recommend-
<br />ation of the State Board of Accounts. Council Member Szymkowiak made a motion to
<br />recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The
<br />motion carried.
<br />BILL NO. -:'5.9 '8 =1 A:"BILL APPROPRIATING $25,'.000.00` FROM THE PARKING GARAGES
<br />FUND TO THE 260.0 ACCOUNT OF THE - PARKING GARAGES BUDGET
<br />WITHIN THE PARKING GARAGES FUND.
<br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents
<br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. John Leszczynski, Director of
<br />Public Works made the presentation for the.bill.; He,ind Gated this appropriation .
<br />would be used to pay or consulting services associated with the rehabilitation of the
<br />parking garages-:,' He indidatedthe consulting-services are necessary in order to
<br />evaluate the existing condition of the garages and determine the scope of the work to
<br />be done. Pat Miller, 2213 Lincolnway Way West, spoke against this bill. Council
<br />Member Dombrowski made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable,
<br />seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried.
<br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council
<br />Member Dombrowski made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Coun-
<br />cil Member Taylor. The motion carried.

<br />Council Member Serge made a motion to continue this bill to July 13, 1981, seconded
<br />by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried.

<br />A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY
<br />KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND,
<br />INDIANA (CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (TOWN TOWER.)
<br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend the peti-
<br />tion, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Beck. The
<br />motion carried. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass the bill, seconded by
<br />Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried.

<br />FARMS.)
<br />This bill -had- second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this bill,
<br />seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine
<br />ayes.

<br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED
<br />OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA,
<br />WITHIN THE DIVISION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PERIOD
<br />FROM JULY 1, 1981 TO JUNE 30, 1982.
<br />This bill had second reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend this
<br />bill, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Dombrow-
<br />ski. The motion carried. Council Member Taylor made a motion to pass this bill, as
<br />amended, seconded by Council Member Beck. The motion carried.
