76 <br />SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY 8, 1981 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in a special meeting <br />in the Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Thursday, January 8, 1981, at 7:00 p.] <br />The meeting was called to order. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Szymkowiak, Beck, Taylor, Kopczynski, <br />Dombrowski, Voorde and McGann . <br />Absent: Council Members Serge and Crone <br />City Controller, Joseph Kernan, thanked the Council for having this special meeting. He <br />indicated they were filing with the Clerk and the Council, signed and verified petitions for <br />2,118 owners of real property subject to taxation by the City of South Bend, and an affidavi- <br />signed by the County Auditor. <br />BILL NO. 1 -81 <br />A BILL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AUTHORIZING THE <br />ISSUANCE AND SALE OF BONDS OF SAID CITY IN ORDER TO PROVIDE <br />FUNDS FOR VARIOUS PURPOSES. <br />This bill had first reading. Council Member Taylor made a motion to set this bill for <br />public hearing and second reading January 12, 1981, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. <br />The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, Council Member Taylor made a <br />motion to adjourn, seconded by Council Member Dombrowski. The motion carried, and the <br />meeting was adjourned at 7:03 p.m. <br />
