KOPCZYNSKI This bill has two basic purposes. First, it
Sixth District
MARY CHRISTINE ADAMS Would define "visible from public property ".
At Large Several problems have arisen where citizens merely
RICHARD C. DOMBROWSKI cover their vehicles with tarps or other materials
At Large and leave them abandoned.. This amendment would
FRANK HORVATH
At Large close this loop hole. Secondly, the bill would
authorize the Board of Public Safety to establish
towing and storage fees. Presently the ordinance c4lls for a maximum
of $15.00 towing and a $2.00 per day storage fee. From the various
verbal and written communications with the Abandoned Vehicle Depart -
ment of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles, it appears that local govern-
ments can control such costs directly.
I believe the bill further strengthens our abandon vehicle ordinance,
and I seek your support. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Richard C. Dombrowski
RCD /vld
