v - JdL <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 28, 1986 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the <br />Council Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, July 28, 1986, at 7:00 p.m. <br />The meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Serge, Braboy, Puzzello, <br />Taylor, Zakrzewski, Barcome, Paszek, Voorde <br />and Beck <br />Absent: None <br />REPORT FROM THE SUB - COMMITTEE ON MINUTES <br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend: <br />The sub - committee has inspected the minutes of the July 14 and July 21 meetings of <br />the Council and found them correct. <br />Therefore, we recommend the same be approved. <br />/s/ Beverlie J. Beck <br />/s/ Al Paszek <br />/s/ James Barcome <br />Council Member Serge made a motion that the minutes of the July 14 and July 21, <br />meetings of the Council be accepted and placed on file, seconded by Council Member <br />Puzzello. The motion carried. <br />SPECIAL BUSINESS <br />Council Member Serge made a motion to appoint Herbert Herendeen to the Historic <br />Preservation Commission, seconded by Council Member Puzzello. The motion carried. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 142f'86 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br />BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING JUDITH A GRUBER FOR BEING <br />SELECTED AS THE RECIPIENT OF THE 1986 INDIANA SOCIETY <br />OF ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVES "ASSOCIATE MEMBER OF THE <br />YEAR" AWARD. <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that <br />Judith A. Gruber was selected as the recipient of the 1986 Indiana Society of <br />Association Executives "Associate Member of the Year" ward presented in <br />Indianapolis; and <br />WHEREAS, Judith A. Gruber began her employment with the Century Center in May of <br />1983 and has served as Director of Sales for the past year; and <br />WHEREAS, the Common Council believes that the City of South Bend is indeed <br />fortunate to have Judith A. Gruber representing the Century Center; and <br />WHEREAS, her professionalism and other fine attributes in sales have garnered <br />her much respect in the meeting /convention industry which benefit our entire <br />Community. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br />INDIANA, as follows: <br />SECTION I. On behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />the Common Council hereby publicly commends JUDITH A. GRUBER, for her many <br />contributions to our community and for being selected as the 1986 "Association <br />Member of the Year" award by the Indiana Society of Association Executives. <br />SECTION II. The Common Council wishes JUDITH A. GRUBER continued success in her <br />profession in the years ahead. <br />SECTION IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Joseph T.
