Council Member Taylor made a motion to combine public hearing on bill nos. 32 and <br />33 -86, seconded by Council Member Barcome. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 32 -86 <br />BILL NO. 33 -86 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $35,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD AND STREET <br />FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8601 DESIGN ENGINEERING FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS <br />AT JACKSON & MIAMI AND EWING & IRONWOOD. <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING AN ADDITIONAL $30,000.00 FROM THE LOCAL ROAD <br />AND STREET FUND TO PROJECT R &S 8506, SR 23 & OLIVE STREET <br />WIDENING AND SIGNALIZATION. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bills, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. John Leszczynski, Director of <br />Public Works, made the presentation for the bills. He indicated, that on Bill No. <br />32 -86, the appropriation would be used for street and traffic improvements at the <br />State Road 23 and Olive Street intersection. He indicated, that on Bill No. 33 -86, <br />the appropriation would be used to pay for the design of traffic signals and <br />pavement widening at the intersections of Jackson and Miami and Ewing and Ironwood. <br />Council Member Taylor made a motion to recommend Bill No. 32 -86 to the Council <br />favorable, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. Council <br />Member Zakrzewski made a motion to recommend Bill No. 33 -86 to the Council <br />favorable, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 34 -86 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $34,186.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />FUND COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND <br />FOR PARKING GARAGE IMPROVEMENTS. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. John Leszczynski, Director of <br />Public Works, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this appropriation <br />will allow the City to make exterior repairs and repaint the Colfax and St. Joseph <br />Street parking garages. He indicated that the repainting helps preserve the <br />concrete. Council Member Barcome made a motion to recommend this bill to the <br />Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 35 -86 <br />A BILL APPROPRIATING $13,700.00 FROM THE FEDERAL ASSISTANCE GRANT <br />FUND COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST <br />FUND FOR THE 1986 SUMMER CLEAN -UP PROGRAM. <br />This being the time <br />and opponents were <br />Code Enforcement, <br />appropriation would <br />Clean -up Program. <br />the Council favorable <br />heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />given an opportunity to be heard. Kathy Barnard, Director of <br />made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this <br />be used to fund the Neighborhood Code Enforcement 1986 Summer <br />Council Member Barcome made a motion to recommend this bill to <br />seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council <br />Member Taylor made a motion to rise and report to the Council, and recess, seconded <br />by Council Member Voorde. PROJECT SERIES B ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT <br />REVENUE BONDS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, TO <br />BOLIDEN METECH, INC. <br />reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, <br />Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY <br />LOCATED AT 1735 EAST CALVERT STREET IN THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />reading. Council Member Serge made a motion to pass this bill, <br />Member Taylor. The bill passed by a roll call vote of nine <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING $850,000.00 FROM THE FEDERAL <br />ASSISTANCE GRANT FUND COMMONLY REFERRED TO AS THE <br />GENERAL REVENUE SHARING TRUST FUND FOR THE 1986 ALLEY <br />AND PAVING PROGRAM. <br />
