Paszek <br />Member of the Common Council <br />/s/ John Voorde <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Council Member Beck read the resolution and presented it to Ed Szucs and Nevin <br />Longenecker. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to adopt this resolution, <br />seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was adopted. <br />REPORTS <br />Council Member Voorde indicated that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on <br />Bill nos. 6 and 9 -85. He indicated that 6 -85 was given a favorable recommendation <br />with the stipulation that a number of questions are adequately answered. <br />Council Member Braboy indicated that the Human Resources Committee had met on <br />Resolution 9E and recommended it favorable. <br />Council Member Puzzello indicated that the Personnel and Finance Committee will meet <br />on April 10 concerning Deferred Compensation for City employees. <br />Council Member Crone indicated that the Residential Neighborhood Committee will meet <br />April 11 to discuss the results of a leaf burning survey she made. <br />Council Member Zakrzewski indicated that the Public Works Committee will meet on <br />April 17 regarding street and alley problems. <br />John Leszczynski, City Engineer, indicated that John Voorde had requested the cost <br />of the snow removal for the snow storms that started February 11. He indicated the <br />cost for the outside contractors was $115,065.37. <br />Council Member Serge made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole, <br />seconded by Council Member Taylor. The motion carried. <br />COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the <br />Committee of the Whole on April 8, at 7:12 p.m., with nine members present. <br />Chairman Serge presiding. <br />BILL NO. 6 -85 A BILL AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 4990 -68, AS AMENDED, COMMONLY KNOWN <br />AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />(CHAPTER 21, MUNICIPAL CODE) (1117 AND 1121 CORBY STREET.) <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Larry Magliozzi, of Area Plan, <br />s gave the staff report, which was favorable subject to a final site plan showing a <br />detailed screening plan. Wyatt Mick, attorney, made the presentation for the bill. <br />He indicated the rezoning would allow for an addition to the service station known <br />as Dick's Standard Service Station. He indicated the addition would be a car wash <br />and parking lot. Sam Costman, 1950 E. Jefferson, indicated that the City needs an <br />ordinance governing car washes. Corby Street <br />Dear Mr. Johnson: <br />I would like to express my opinion regarding the proposed ordinance and site <br />development plan of the above referenced property which will be considered at a <br />public hearing to be held Tuesday, March 19, 1985. <br />The South Bend Housing Authority owns a two - story, single family residential unit <br />located at 1143 Corby Street. Currently the nearest commercial properties are <br />located at the intersection of Corby Street and Eddy Street east of this <br />intersection. <br />
