REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 8, 1984
<br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met in the Council
<br />Chambers of the County -City Building on Monday, October 8, 1984, at 7:00 p.m. The
<br />meeting was called to order and the Pledge to the Flag was given.
<br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Serge, Braboy, Puzzello, Taylor,
<br />Zakrzewski, Crone, Paszek, Voorde and Beck
<br />Absent: None
<br />REPORT FROM THE SUB - COMMITTEE ON MINUTES
<br />To the Common Council of the City of South Bend:
<br />Your sub - committee on the inspection and supervision of the minutes would res-
<br />pectfully report that it has inspected the minutes of the September 24, 1984, meeting
<br />of the Council and found them correct.
<br />The sub, - committee, therefore, recommends that the same be approved.

<br />Council Member Serge made a motion that the minutes of the September 24, 1984, meeting
<br />of the Council be accepted and placed on file, seconded by Council Member Puzzello.

<br />RESOLUTION NO. 1207 -84 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH
<br />BEND, INDIANA, COMMENDING THE FIREFIGHTERS AND PARAMEDICS
<br />WHO RESPONDED TO THE HOME OF TONY GADACZ ON SEPTEMBER 23,
<br />1984.
<br />WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, recognizes that
<br />firefighters, paramedics and police officers respond to emergencies on a daily basis
<br />in helping to preserve the health and safety of the citizens of our community; and
<br />WHEREAS, on Sunday, September 23, 2984, a response team made up of firefighters
<br />and paramedics responded to an emergency at the home of Tony Gadacz, 2529 Bonds,
<br />South Bend, Indiana; and
<br />WHEREAS, the family of Tony Gadacz, through their grandson, Councilman Thomas
<br />Zakrzewski, wish to personally and publicly thank the following individuals for trying
<br />to save Tony Gadacz's life; Engine 4 made up of Captain Joe DeBuysser, Firefighters
<br />Manijak, and Firefighter Jasicki; and Paramedic Kowalski and Paramedic R. Brandt.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City of South Bend,
<br />Indiana, asfollows:
<br />SECTION I. On behalf of the family of Tony Gadacz through their grandson, Councilman
<br />Thomas Zakrzewski, together with his colleagues on the South Bend Common Council,
<br />wish to personally and publicly thank the firefighters of Engine 4 and the two paramedics
<br />who responded to the emergency call at 2529 Bonds on September 23, 1984.
<br />SECTION II. the Common Council extends their deepest sympathy to the family of
<br />Tony Gadacz, and hope that the rich and abundant memories of him, especially as a
<br />South Bend firefighter, will help brighten their days ahead.
<br />SECTION III. This resolution shall be in full force and effect upon its adoption
<br />by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor.
