REGULAR MEETING JULY 9, 1984 <br />BILL NO. 62 -84 A BILL TO VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY: COLUMBIA <br />STREET RUNNING SOUTH FROM THE SOUTH RIGHT -OF WAY OF BRONSON <br />STREET FOR A DISTANCE OF 371 FEET MORE OR LESS, ALL BEING <br />IN SAMPLE'S SUB OF LOTS 26, 27 AND 28 - D &F ADDITION. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on this bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. John Connaughton, attorney for <br />the petitioner, made the presentation for the bill. He indicated they were requesting <br />this street vacation in order to build an addition to their existing facility. Council <br />Member Beck made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded <br />by Council Member Puzzello. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 64 -84 A BILL APPROPRIATING $29,003 FROM THE YOUTH SERVICE BUREAU <br />FUND FOR OPERATING FUNDS TO BE ADMINISTERED BY THE YOUTH <br />SERVICE BUREAU OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on this bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Bill Monahan, Recreation Coordinator for the Youth Service Bureau, <br />made the presentation for the bill. The indicated this appropriation would be used <br />for administration and programs for the Bureau. Council Member Voorde made a motion <br />to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. <br />The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 65 -84 A BILL APPROPRIATING MONIES FOR OPERATION OF THE YOUTH <br />SERVICE BUREAU RUNAWAY SHELTER. <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on this bill, proponents and <br />opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Mary Poczik, from the Runaway <br />Shelter, made the presentation for the bill. She indicated this bill would appropriate <br />$103,325 for operation of the Shelter for one year. Council Member Beck made a <br />motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member <br />Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />There being no further business to come before the Committee of the Whole, Council <br />Member Beck made a motion to rise and report to the Council, seconded by Council <br />Member Crone. Council Member Taylor made a motion to amend this <br />bill, as amended in the Committee of the Whole, seconded by Council Member Crone. <br />The motion carried.
