REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 25, 1984 <br />WHEREAS, a Declaratory Resolution designated the area commonly known as 3515 <br />Boland Drive,South Bend, Indiana, and more particularly described by a line drawn as <br />follows: <br />Commencing at the southeast corner of said quarter section; thence South 89 <br />degrees 58 minutes 56 seconds West 1200.00 feet; thence North 0 degrees 00 <br />minutes 23 seconds East 120 feet to the point of beginning of this description: <br />thence South 89 degrees 58 minutes 56 seconds West 329.55 feet along the north <br />line of Boland Drive; thence North 0 degrees 00 minutes 23 seconds East 385.00 <br />feet; thence North 89 degrees 58 minutes 56 seconds East 339.55 feet; thence <br />South 0 degrees 00 minutes 23 seconds West 375.00 feet long the West line of <br />Kenmore Street; thence South 44 degrees 59 minutes 40 seconds West 14.15 feet <br />to the point of beginning, containaing 3.000 acres, more or less. <br />The bearing of the south line of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28 is assumed <br />North 90 degrees 00 minutes 00 seconds West. <br />as an Economic Revitalization Area; and <br />WHEREAS, notice of the adoption of a Declaratory Resolution and the public <br />hearing before the Council has been published pursuant to Indiana Code 6-1.1- 12.1 -2- <br />5; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council held a public hearing for the purposes of hearing all <br />remonstrances and objections from interested persons; and <br />WHEREAS, the Council has determined that the qualifications for an economic <br />revitalization area have been met. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the CIty of South Bend, <br />Indiana, as follows: <br />SECTION I. That the Common Council hereby confirms its Declaratory Resolution <br />designating the area described herein as an Economic Revitalization Area for the <br />purposes of tax abatement. Such designation is for personal property tax abatement <br />only and is limited to five (5) calendar years from the date of adoption of a Declaratory <br />Resolution by the Common Council. <br />SECTION II. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after <br />its adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />/s /Beverlie J. James Knepp, attorney <br />for the petitioners, indicated that American Tool and Die were requesting real and <br />personal abatements for an addition to the present structure, to house additional <br />tool and die equipment. Howard Bessire, Director of the Industrial Foundation, <br />spoke in favor of these resolutions. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to <br />adopt Resolution No. 1174 -84, seconded by Council Member Taylor. The resolution was <br />adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. Council Member Braboy made a motion to <br />adopt Resolution No. 1175 -84, seconded y Council Member Zakrzewski. The resolution <br />was adopted by a roll call vote of nine ayes. <br />RESOLUTION NO. 1176 -84 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AUTHORIZING <br />THE MAYOR TO SUBMIT TO THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT AN APPLICATION <br />FOR THE RENTAL REHABILITATION PROGRAM. <br />WHEREAS, the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana, is the Chief Executive <br />Officer of the City and is the applicant for funds made available through the United <br />States Housing Act (the Act). The Rental Rebahilitation Program is authorized by <br />Section 17 of the Act which has enacted into law in Section 301 of the Housing and <br />Urban -Rural Recovery Act of 1983. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Common Council of the City of South <br />Bend, Indiana: <br />SECTION I. That the Mayor of the City of South Bend, Indiana is hereby authorized <br />to submit the Rental Rehabilitation application to the United States Department of <br />Housing and Urban DFevelopment. <br />SECTION II. That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and <br />after its adoption by the Common Council and approvedf by the Mayor. <br />/s/ Beverlie J.
