ei <br />SPECIAL MEETING JUNE 22, 1984 <br />Be it remembered that the Common Council of the City of South Bend met at the <br />Century Center on Friday, June 22, 1984, at 3:10 p.m. The meeting was called to <br />order and the Pledge to the Flag was given. <br />ROLL CALL Present: Council Members Serge, Puzzello, Taylor, <br />Zakrewski, Paszek, Voorde, and Beck <br />Absent: Council Members Braboy, and Crone <br />TO THE MEMBERS OF THE SOUTH BEND COMMON COUNCIL <br />NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />You are hereby notified that there will be a special meeting of the South Bend Common <br />Council, June 22, 1984 at 3:00 p.m., for the purposes outlined below. The meeting <br />will be held at the Century Center, in the Green Room. <br />To discuss the F.O.P. salary proposal <br />/s/ Beverlie J. Beck <br />%s Eugenia Braboy <br />/s/ Joseph T. Serge <br />/s/ Ann Puzzello <br />/s/ John Voorde <br />attest: Jo Ann Harper, Chief Deputy Clerk <br />The within call for a Special Council Meeting came to hand the 20 day of June 1984 <br />which I serve by reading the same to each Councilman upon the date designated. <br />Ls/ Joseph T. Beck <br />or by leaving a certified copy thereof at the last usual place of residence of such <br />members as I was able to find, as follows: <br />Al Paszek <br />Ann Puzzello <br />Robert Taylor <br />Beverly Crone <br />Eugenia Braboy <br />Tom Zakrzewski <br />John Voorde <br />Isl Greg Violette #344 <br />Member of the South Bend Police Department <br />Council Member Beck read the following statement: "Yesterday, three.members of the <br />Common Council Police and Fire Wage Committee met informally with representatives of <br />the F.O.P. Wage Committee. In that meeting, we discussed the salary and fringe <br />benefit proposal submitted by the F.O.P. and reached a tenative agreement subject to <br />the approval of the entire Common Council Police and Fire Wage Committee, the Common <br />Council and the F.O.P. <br />Councilmen Paszek, Serge and I recommend the approval of the following two -year <br />salary package for officers of the South Bend Police Department in the rank of leiutenant <br />or below:" <br />MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT <br />BETWEEN FRATERNAL ORDER OF POLICE LODGE NO. 36 <br />WAGE NEGOTIATING COMMITTEE <br />AND <br />THE COMMON COUNCIL WAGE AND BENEFIT NEGOTIATING TEAM <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />Section I - Wage and Benefit Package <br />2% of bargaining unit officer's base pay applied to fringe benefits as follows: <br />Item 1. <br />Dependent Health Coverage <br />The City of South Bend shall contribute an amount equal of <br />$260.32 per year for each bargaining unit officer in <br />addition to that amount currently being paid by the City. <br />This will reduce and amount paid by the bargaining unit <br />police officer to a total of $500.00 per year or $20.85 per <br />paycheck <br />Item 2. Clothing Allowance <br />
