• <br />PERFORMING ARTS CENTER <br />November 4, 2002 <br />Mr. Roland Kelly <br />President, South Bend Common Council <br />435 County-City Building <br />South Bend, IN 46601 <br />Re: Morris Performing Arts Center Capital Improvement Appropriations Ordinance <br />Dear Mr. Kelly, <br />I attach for filing with the South Bend Common Council an Ordinance requesting an <br />appropriation of $83,900.00 within the Morns Performing Arts Center Improvement Fund (Fund <br />416). Revenues from this fund are generated by the ticket surcharge and the fund is used <br />exclusively for capital improvements such as renovation, remodeling, and specifically here, <br />equipment to improve the facilities. <br />The improvements for which the Morris Performing Arts Center desires appropriation consist of <br />the following: <br />$38,500.00 Dumpster/Compactor. Construction of an outside area (at <br />the rear of the facility) with electrical service is needed to <br />enclose a leased compactor for the disposal of refuse from <br />the Morris Performing Arts Center complex. <br />$17,000.00 Security. Security devices need to be added to the exterior <br />building doors. Cameras and additional security equipment <br />also need to be added to the interior of the building, <br />particularly in the interstitial. <br />$16,700.00 Awning/Canopy. Canopies are needed to complete work <br />on the facade at the Morris Box Office entrance and for the <br />Colfax side of the building in conjunction with the Palais <br />Royale grand entrance. <br />$6,000.00 Telephone System. Computer cards for the telephone <br />system are needed to update functions of the system such as <br />the Box Office Information Service lines and to connect the <br />phones in the Palais to the Morris' telephone mainframe. <br />Morris Performing Arts Center • 21 I N.
