REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 16, 2025 248 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 30-2025 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS HONORING GARY A. GILOT <br />FOR HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> <br />WHEREAS, after twenty-five (25) years of faithful and dedicated service to the City <br />of South Bend, Gary Gilot will resign from the City of South Bend’s (“City”) Board Public <br />Works upon conclusion of the December 16, 2025 Board of Public Works meeting; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, as part of his distinguished professional career, Gary served as the <br />Director of Public Works for the City from 2000 through 2011 and on the City’s Board of <br />Public Works from 2000 to 2025; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, upon his retirement from the Director of Public Works, Gary continued <br />to serve the City through his role as a member of the City’s Board of Public Works, and; <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary’s dedication to civil service continued after his retirement from the <br />City through the mentoring of numerous City staff members, including several current <br />members of the Department of Public Works; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, during his time with the City, Gary has provided both the Department of <br />Public Works and the Board of Public Works with exceptional leadership, and has earned <br />the admiration and respect of his fellow employees, Board members and City <br />administrators; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary has served an integral role in the design, planning, development, <br />financial stewardship and completion of every major City infrastructure project over the <br />last twenty-five (25) years; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Gary will always be considered an asset to the City for his knowledge, <br />dedicated service to the community and mentorship; and <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of South Bend Board of Public <br />Works does hereby commend and honor Gary Gilot and hereby congratulate him upon his <br />retirement from the City’s Board of Public Works. <br /> <br /> <br />ADOPTED this 16th day of December 2025 <br /> <br /> <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/ Elizabeth A. Horvath, Clerk <br /> <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO. 1 – 2024 LEAD SERVICE LINE AND MAIN <br />REPLACEMENT – SOUTHEAST ZONE – PROJECT NO. 123-069B (State Revolving Fund) <br />President Maradik advised that Rebecca Plantz, Engineering, has submitted change order <br />number 1 on behalf of Selge Construction Co., Inc., indicating the contract amount be <br />increased by $13,911.03 for a new contract sum, including this change order, in the amount <br />of $6,207,194.53. Upon a motion made by VP Molnar, seconded by Mr. Miller and carried <br />by roll call, the change order was approved.
