Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 466.01 <br />Attention; Joseph Serge, Chairman, Public Works Committee <br />Re Main - Michigan Connector <br />Gentlemen; <br />219/284-9251 <br />Attached you will find an ordinance requesting $122,400.00 <br />from the Local Road and Street Fund for Project R & S 61, the <br />Michigan -Main Connector. <br />This appropriation is necessitated primarily by the current <br />guidelines under which this office must function when acquiring <br />right -of -way and secondarily by the current inflationary trends <br />affecting the construction industry. <br />An additional sum, of approximately $90,400.00 has been <br />required to accomplish the necessary right -of -way acquisition. <br />It is anticipated that of this sum, approximately $88,500.00 <br />will be returned to the Local Road and Street Fund through <br />the sale of surplus property. <br />The Board of Works has received bids and has negotiated <br />a contract for the construction of this improvement.
