CITY OF SOUTH BEND AND ST. JOSEPH COUNTY I HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION <br />Upon a motion by David Wyncott, seconded by Peter DeKever, and <br />UNANIMOULY carried by vote, the Historic Preservation Commission <br />APPROVES Certificate of Appropriateness Application #2025-0604a <br />Roll was called. <br />Commissioner Downs- Krostenko: AYE <br />Commissioner Wyncott: AYE <br />Commissioner DeKever: AYE <br />Commissioner Hough: AYE <br />Commissioner Andrews: AYE <br />Vote; 5-0, Five in favor, none opposed. <br />COA 2025-0604a APPROVED. <br />ii. 2025-0605 708 Forest Avenue Chapin Park LHD, Ord. #9575-05 <br />(Audio Position: 00:17:24) <br />The staff report was presented by: <br />Ross Van Overberghe, Historic Preservation Administrator <br />Staff Recommendation: <br />The current rear deck is of modern construction and is deteriorated. Removal <br />of the deck is appropriate. Construction of the new porch roof fits with the <br />style of the house and is appropriate in scale and materials. A new fence <br />along a property line from the house to the eastern line will have no negative <br />implications on the property and is in line with other houses in the district. <br />Staff make a FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION. <br />The applicant was represented by: <br />William Wallace, 704 Forest Ave, appeared in person to represent the <br />applicant. <br />The public was represented by: <br />There was no one from the public to speak in regard to this application. <br />After due consideration the following action was taken: <br />Upon a motion by David Wyncott, and seconded by Kathryn Hough, and <br />UNANIMOUSLY carried by vote, the Historic Preservation Commission <br />APPROVES Certificate of Appropriateness Application #2025-0605. <br />Roll was called. <br />Commissioner Wyncott: AYE <br />Commissioner Dekever: AYE <br />Commissioner Hough: AYE <br />Commissioner Downs-Krostenko: AYE <br />Commissioner Andrews: AYE <br />Vote: 5-0.
