ORDINANCE NO.6 G Cog'-7j
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 6615 -79,
COMMONLY KNOWN AS THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND'S
SALARY ORDINANCE, WHICH FIXED MAXIMUM SALARIES
AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES
OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE
YEAR OF 1980.
STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT:
The Common Council recognizes that the increasing and more
complex demands placed on city government require certain changes
in operations and jobs.which will promote the more efficient and
more effective delivery of public services. The task of continuing
to provide basic services in the face of rising cost requires close
scrutiny of the manner in which we provide such services and the
courage to change whenever that is necessary. This is an important
part of the challenge facing the Council and the Mayor in the 19801s.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City
of South Bend, Indiana, as follows:
SECTION I. The City of South Bend's 1980 Salary Ordinance is
hereby amended in the following manner:
PRESENT ANNUAL
POSITION SALARY PROPOSED
II. General Classification
Mayor's Secretary $12,071.00 - - - --
Manager, Secretarial
and Clerical Services - - -- $16,000.00
SECTION II. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval by
the Mayor.
1st READING
PUBLIC NEARING
2nd READING 3 -
NOT APPROVED
REFERRED
PASSE'D
i ? 1979
