Lochmueller completed a traffic
signal asset management plan
for the City of Urbana which
inventoried the existing signalized
intersections and pedestrian
flasher locations, including signal
controllers, signal conflict monitors,
battery backup controllers, stop
bar detection, network switches or
other networking hardware, and
preemption hardware.
The asset management plan
included a cost -benefit analysis
for upgrades to network
connectivity, strategic discussion
for implementing a region -wide
preemption system, detailed
potential upgrades to allow
for better signalized corridor
operations, and requirements to
adequately maintain and care for
the current signal system.
Lochmueller calculated
appropriate pedestrian walk and
clearance intervals, yellow change
intervals, and all -red clearance
intervals. Project work included
recommendations for replacements
due to age, condition, or non-
conformance with current industry
standards. The final Plan serves
as a reference for future capital
improvement planning efforts as a
basis to maintain and improve the
City's traffic signal infrastructure.
WHY CHOOSE LOCHMVELLER?
Balanced Emphasis on Relationships & Technical Strength
Lochmueller is both local to South Bend and regularly collaborates
with the City to deliver successful public works projects. Our
familiarity will translate to cost savings.
Strong Focus on PM Leadership - Rich and Tyson are reliable and
collaborative communicators. As experts in their field, they will
invite the City into a partnership throughout the entire project.
Responsive & Process -Driven Delivery - Lochmueller focuses on
meeting client goals more so than simply meeting deadlines. We
dig deeper than other firms to comprehend problems and apply
solutions.
66
Traffic signal central
management systems
and signal upgrades are
my area of expertise. I'm
passionate about helping
cities manage their traffic
signal infrastructure because
it directly translates to public
welfare.
Let's get started!
Rich Schmidt, PTOE
Project Manager
LOCHMUELLER GROUP 112
