Parent, President South Bend Common Council 227 West Jefferson Boulevard South Bend, Indiana Dear Mr. Parent: The Department of Public Parks is requesting the Common Council to approve the enclosed ordinance appropriating $45,000.00 from the Zoo Endowment Fund to account #260.0, Other Contractual Services. The forty -eight thousand dollars is the second payment from the Muessel- Ellison and Stanley and Flora Clark Trust Funds for the con- struction of the Educational Services and Wildlife Building at Pota- watomi Zoo. The trust funds has committed $380,000.00 for the zoo project. Payments will be made on a quarterly basis over the next three years. The Park Department appreciates the Common Council's interest and help on the zoo project as shown by its willingness to appropriate revenue sharing funds to complete the wildlife building. I feel that when this structure is completed, South Bend will have one of the finest small zoos in the Midwest. Your approval of this ordinance will be appreciated.
