Mark McDonnell <br />Founder <br />LaSalle Hospitality <br />May 26, 2025 <br />To whom it may concern <br />Subject: Letter of Recommendation regarding Tx Concrete <br />I got to know the principal of Tx Concrete, Jose Quijada, many years ago when he was <br />working for Van Vooren Construction Company who did the original renovation of the <br />first floor of the building at 115 West Colfax 34 years ago in 1991 so that I could open <br />LaSalle Grill. Van Vooren subsequently performed many renovations over the <br />succeeded years as we expanded out footprint in the building as we rented more space <br />and eventually purchased the building. I am not sure of the exact date that Jose joined <br />the crew but he was on the many jobs over the years. Steve Van Vooren retired a <br />couple of years ago and closed the company. <br />Late last year I asked Steve to give me a recommendation for a contractor to re -build <br />the outdoor deck and he told me that he'd contact Jose Quijada and set a a meeting. <br />Jose and I met to lay out a plan and it all come together beautifully. Tx is now our go -to <br />company for a myriad of construction options. <br />I have seen his work at other places as well, re -doing sidewalks and curbs for the City <br />of Elkhart outside of the Brass Elk Brewing restaurant and constructing the New <br />Mexican Market at Western and Olive Streets in South Bend. I find Jose to be <br />straightforward, fair and honest. I would trust him to to complete any construction task <br />that I may request. <br />Sincerely, <br />Mark McDonnell <br />
