• The South Bend Redevelopment Authority <br />Special Meeting .February 23, 1998 <br />Mrs. Kolata reported that the seats for the Morris have been removed. The <br />asbestos removal bids are due on Monday, March 2, and the actual removal of <br />the asbestos should take one month. The demolition of the stage house should <br />take place in May, with the bids for it coming in March. The steel will be <br />ordered in March and installed in the summer. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Pfotenhauer, seconded by Mr. Ladewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved Resolution No. 119. <br />b. Authority approval requested for Resolution No. 120 approving and <br />authorizing the execution of an agency agreement by and between the <br />South Bend Redevelopment Authority and the City of South Bend, <br />Indiana, Board of Public Works for the Morris. Performing Arts Center <br />Project. <br />Mrs. Kolata stated that Resolution No. 120 authorizes the South Bend Board of <br />Public Works to act on behalf of the Redevelopment Authority to supervise the <br />• bidding and construction of the Morris Performing Arts .Center. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Pfotenhauer, seconded by Mr. Ladewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved Resolution No. 120. <br />c. Authority approval requested for Resolution No.121 authorizing the <br />transfer of title to certain real property owned by the Authority to the South <br />Bend Redevelopment Commission and certain actions related thereto. <br />Mrs. Kolata explained that Monroe Parks Apartments is located on this <br />property. Resolution No. 121 authorizes the transfer. of title of the property <br />from the Redevelopment Authority to the Redevelopment Commission. The <br />Commission will then transfer it to South Bend Housing Associates Limited <br />Partnership, who has recently taken over as General Partner of the partnership <br />owning the apartments. They need to own the land in order to obtain <br />permanent financing for the project. South Bend Housing Associates Limited <br />is affiliated with a firm named DOMINIUM Inc., who owns and operates <br />hundreds of rental properties across the United States. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. Pfotenhauer, seconded by Mr. Ladewski and <br />unanimously carried, the Authority approved Resolution No. 121. <br />• <br />2 <br />
