Klosinski, P.E., Assistant City Engineer <br />SUBJECT: Agenda Request for Bid Opening <br />South Well Field, Water Treatment Plant, and Distribution System <br />Improvements <br />Project No. 117-059A / DFO PROJ00000082 <br />DATE: April 15, 2025 <br />The Department of Public Works, Division of Engineering and Division of Water Works request <br />the Board of Public Works open Public Bids for Project No. 117-059A South Well Field, Water <br />Treatment Plant, and Distribution System Improvements at the Board of Public Works Regular <br />Meeting on April 22, 2025. Bidders were asked to submit bids for two separate Bid Packages, <br />Bid Package #1 and Bid Package #2. Bid Package #2 has two Divisions, Divisions A and <br />Division B. Bid Package #1 is not divisible. Bid Package #2 is divisible. <br />Project 117-059A is the final project required to complete the improvements at the South Well <br />Field Water Treatment Plant Facility. The project will be bid as two separate Bid Packages. <br />Public Works will evaluate the bid pricing of each design alternative prior to project award. <br />Bid Package #1 includes a chlorine detention tank, pumping equipment, well improvements, <br />and water treatment process improvements. Bid Package #1 will be a single, non -divisible bid. <br />Bid Package #2 includes a chlorine detention pipe, site work, injection vaults, well <br />improvements, and water building process improvements. Bid Package #2 will be bid as a <br />Divisible Bid with Division A Treatment Process and Building Improvements and Division B <br />Pipe Installation and Site Work Improvements. This alternative has enough variation in scope <br />items that may encourage different contractors to be one or both Divisions. <br />The Department of Public Works, Division of Engineering, and Division of Water Works will <br />review Bid Package #1 and Bid Package #2 to determine the most cost-effective project prior to <br />issuing a recommendation for project award. <br />Bid Opening and Tentative Award Schedule <br />• April 22, 2025 Bid Opening and Begin Bid Review <br />• May 13 or May 27, 2025 Tentative Date(s) for Project Award <br />For questions regarding the subject Agenda Request or project scope of work, contact <br />Jacob M.
