She <br />stated them as follows: Building Maintenance Dept. 93 the position of Janitor <br />should be added. Parks & Recreation Pay Group IX should be omitted an Pay Group X <br />should be added. Pay Group X, Mechanic IV should be omitted. Pay Group VII, <br />Mechanic III should be changed to Mechanic II. Pay Group VI pay in 1990 should be <br />$9.07, in 1991 it should be $9.32 and in 1992 it should be $9.62. Pay Group IV <br />Mechanic II should be change to Mechanic I. In pay Group II the position of <br />Dietician should be added. In pay group I the positionof Park Police should be <br />added. In the Bureau of Solid Waste the pay for operator I should be $8.08 in <br />1989. In 1990 it should be $8.33. In 1991 it should be $8.58 and in 1991 it <br />should be $8.88. In the Bureau of Wastewater the Utility & Relief Operator should <br />be renamed to Utility Operator. Council Member Voorde made a motion to accept the <br />amendments, seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. Council <br />Member Zakrzewski made a motion to recommend this bill to the council favorable, <br />seconded by Council Member Zakrzewski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 105 -89 <br />A BILL AMENDING CHAPTER 20, ARTICLE 9 OF THE SOUTH BEND <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED "MOBILITY HANDICAPPED PARKING" <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Soderberg <br />stated that the Public Safety Committee met on this bill and recommends it to the <br />Council favorable. John Leszczynski, City Engineer made the presentation on the <br />bill. He indicated that this bill amends Chapter 20 Article 9 of the South Bend <br />Municipal Code. He stated that this bill will amend the Mobility Handicapped <br />Parking Ordinance to delete the requirement that the curbs adjacent to handicapped <br />parking spaces be painted blue. Council Member Zakrzewski made a motion to <br />recommend this bill to the Council favorable, seconded by Council Member <br />Niezgodski. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 106 -89 A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />ESTABLISHING A NON - REVERTING "CENTURY CENTER PREVENTIVE <br />MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT FUND" <br />This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Voorde stated <br />that the Personnel & Finance met on this bill and recommends this bill to the <br />Council favorable. Katherine Humphreys, City Controller made the presentation on <br />the bill. She indicated that this bill would create a non - reverting "Century <br />Center Preventive Maintenance and Improvement Fund." She stated that the <br />principal, initial amount of this fund is $300,000.00; this amount is the license <br />fee paid the Century Center Boad of Managers by the Service America Corporation <br />with whom the Century Center Board has renewed the contract for food and beverage <br />services at Century Center. She stated that these funds are currently invested in <br />a local financial instutuion. She stated that the board determines the need to use <br />these funds earmarked for maintenance and improvemtns at Century Center. Council <br />Member Niezgodski made a motion to recommend this bill to the Council favorable, <br />seconded by Council Member Soderberg. The motion carried. <br />BILL NO. 107 -89 A BILL APPROPRIATING $17,842.00 FROM THE CENTURY CENTER <br />PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />REPAIR OF THE HEATING BOILERS AT THE CENTURY CENTER FACILITY. <br />
