On Behalf of all of the citizens of the City of South Bend. Indiana, <br />the Common Council wishes to publicly commend all of the individuals who contributed <br />their time ano- talents in the production of "Urban White Water '86." <br />SECTION II. The Common Council wishes to commend these same dedicated <br />professionals in being awarded a bronze medal and placing third in the Special Sports <br />Presentation category by the International Film and Television Festival of New York <br />for "Urban White Water 186." <br />SECTION III. The Common Council believes that <br />at by accentuatL.g such events as the <br />East Race Wa *erway through "Urban White Water 186" and other slalom anu kayak <br />competitions, the uLty of South Bend will truly become "Alive with Pride." <br />SECTION IV. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its <br />adoption by the Common Council and approval by the Mayor. <br />-- /s/ Joseph T. The resolution was <br />A video tape of the Urban White Water '86 was shown. <br />REPORTS <br />Council Member Beck indicated that the Personnel and Finance Committee had mew on Bill <br />nos. 48 and 50 -87, and recommended them to the Council favorably. <br />Council Member Puzzello indicated that the Personnel and Finance and the Public Safety <br />Committee had met on Bill nos. 51 and 52 -87 and recommended that both bills be <br />stricken from the record. <br />Council Member Braboy indicated that the Human Resources Committee had met on Bill No. <br />49 -87 and recommended it favorably. <br />Council Member Voorde indicated that the Zoning and Vacation Committee had met on Bill <br />nos, 11, 23, 26, and 33 -87. He indicated that bill nos. 23, 26, 33 -87 were <br />recommended favorably, and 11 -87 reueived no recu „anendation. <br />Council Member Beck made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole, seconded <br />by Council Member Braboy.
