All rights reserved. <br /> <br />7.12 CONSULTANT will perform QA/QC prior to submission. <br />7.13 CONSULTANT will make one (1) set of final revisions to the plans and specifications as <br />necessary based on CLIENT comment. <br /> <br />8.0 GUIDING DOCUMENTS <br />The project will be designed in English Units and in accordance with the following references, <br />polices, and guidelines: <br />8.1 City of South Bend Construction Standards and Specifications. <br />8.2 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – “A Policy on <br />Geometric Design of Highways and Streets” <br />8.3 American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials – “Roadside Design <br />Guide” <br />8.4 INDOT Standard Specifications, 2024 <br />8.5 INDOT Design Memoranda <br />8.6 INDOT Drainage Design Manual <br />8.7 INDOT Design Manual <br />8.8 Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) guidance <br />8.9 Indiana Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices for Streets and Highways <br />8.10 Where conflict exists between the City of South Bend Construction Standards and <br />Specifications, and those of INDOT, the City of South Bend Construction Standards and <br />Specifications shall prevail, unless otherwise directed. <br /> <br />9.0 DECORATIVE STREET LIGHTING DESIGN <br />9.1 Design services include new decorative street lighting equipment along the new roadway <br />starting on Jefferson Blvd just east of MLK Jr. Blvd extending approximately 640 feet into <br />the proposed River West development. <br />9.2 Coordinate with CLIENT to verify project goals, aesthetic lighting preferences, and overall <br />performance requirements for the proposed lighting facilities. <br />9.3 Review existing topography survey base sheets. <br />9.4 Develop a lighting model utilizing Acuity Visual software to determine appropriate light pole <br />locations, meeting average and minimum illumination thresholds. <br />9.5 Prepare a preliminary lighting plan sheet reflecting the locations of existing lighting <br />infrastructure and installation of new lighting infrastructure within the project limits listed in <br />Task 9.1, with the following: <br />9.5.1 Lighting Index and General Note Sheet <br />9.5.2 General plan sheet related elements including plan views; location of existing <br />utilities, service points, and lighting equipment; Right-of-Way information; <br />proposed conduit/wire type and locations; and all proposed lighting elements. <br />9.6 Revise plans based on initial review comments and then submit as Final lighting design, <br />including the following: <br />9.6.1 Design data details including initial lamp lumens; average maintained <br />illumination; depreciation factors; uniformity ratios; mounting heights; and <br />luminaire classifications. <br />9.6.2 Development of iso-illuminance or point illuminance exhibits depicting the <br />proposed light levels meet average and avg/min requirements.
