ORDINANCE NO. 6 Q (q ':� - K I <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND DELETING CURRENT SECTION 2 -57 OF <br />THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE, ENTITLED <br />COMMISSION ON STATUS OF WOMEN. <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />The South Bend Commission on the Status of Women, established <br />by ordinance in June, 1974, has made many significant accomplish- <br />ments in stimulating an awareness among both men and women of women's <br />full potential and of the importance of their contributions to the <br />development of the community. In order to increase the value of <br />the Commission on the Status of Women to the community the commis- <br />sion should be dissolved and become instead a committee of the <br />Human Rights Commission, so that the resulting Women's Committee <br />of the Human Rights Commission can strengthen its ability to work <br />in the employment discrimination area as well as in other areas of <br />importance to women in the South Bend community. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Common Council of the City <br />of South Bend: <br />SECTION I. That the South Bend Municipal Code Section 2 -57 <br />be deleted in its entiretv and reserved for future use. <br />SECTION II.
