ORDINANCE NO. 7110 -82 <br />AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 1982 SALARY ORDINANCE <br />NO. 6920 -81 FIXING MAXIMUM SALARIES AND WAGES <br />OF CERTAIN APPOINTED OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES <br />OF THE NEIGHBORHOOD CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICE <br />TO BE CALLED THE DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT: <br />Included in the reorganization of the departments of the City <br />of South Bend is the creation of the Department of Code Enforcement. <br />This reorganization will be accomplished without adding new personnel, <br />but some positions will be given increased responsibilities, therefore, <br />it is requested that these positions be given additional monies, <br />effective November 1, 1982. <br />The additional funds are available through the Neighborhood <br />Code Enforcement Office. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA: <br />SECTION I. That from and after the 1st day <br />the maximum salaries for the following appointed <br />of the Department of Code Enforcement shall be <br />DEPARTMENT OF CODE ENFORCEMENT <br />PRESENT PROPOSED 1982 <br />POSITION SALARY SALARY <br />of November, 1982, <br />officers and employees <br />as follows: <br />ADDITIONAL FUNDS NEEDED <br />FROM 11 -1 -82 - 12 -31 -82 <br />Director <br />$20,944.00 <br />$21,800.00 <br />$856.00 <br />Assistant Director <br />16,638.00 <br />17,093.72 <br />455.72 <br />Chief Inspector <br />15,964.00 <br />16,348.60 <br />384.60 <br />Administrative <br />Services Director <br />-0- <br />16,004.20 <br />447.20 <br />Housing Specialist <br />-0- <br />16,140.36 <br />65.36 <br />SECTION II. That the position of Director also be funded from <br />Community Development at $1,168.00 in 1982. <br />SECTION III. That the position of Office Manager be deleted <br />from the 1982 Salary Ordinance. <br />SECTION IV. That Neighborhood Code Enforcement be changed to <br />Department of Code Enforcement in the 1982 Salary Ordinance. <br />SECTION V. That the position of Housing Specialist and Administrative <br />Services Director be included in the amended 1982 Salary Ordinance. <br />SECTION VI. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and <br />effect from and after its passage by the Common Council and approval <br />by the Mayor. <br />Member of the Common Council <br />Passed, as amended, October 11, 1982 <br />
