RFQ Response for Guaranteed Energy Savings Contract
South Bend Central Fire Station & MLK Dream Center Solar PV
City of South Bend, Indiana
CMTA
CMTA's philosophy is to identify drastic energy reductions, then supplement this with renewable energy. The less renewable
energy needed, the less space needed for renewables, and the lower the cost. The term "building electrification" describes a shift
to using electricity rather than fossil fuels for building space heating, domestic water heating, and process heating, like pool
heating and cooking. Converting buildings to all -electric means that zero greenhouse gas (GHG) is emitted.
We have successfully designed and implemented solar arrays on hundreds of high-performance projects. This process starts at
the conceptual design level and involves consideration of building roof area, self -shading, roof obstacles, mounting techniques,
utility coordination and regional factors to ensure that the project's solar potential is optimized. Our goal for your facilities would
be to maximize solar generation in a way that minimizes or eliminates architectural impact.
In addition, CMTA understands the unique utility tariffs and interconnection requirements for the installation of PV across the
nation. Because of this understanding and our familiarity with solar system pricing, CMTA can quickly determine if a solar PV
system can be included in a self -funding program. CMTA will work with the City of South Bend to assess the South Bend Central
Fire Station's and MLK Dream Center's building infrastructure and determine the best path forward to decarbonization for those
facilities. CMTA has recently installed the following PV systems as part of our GESC projects:
Project
Center Grove Community Schools Phases 1-3, IN
PV System Size (kW)Yea
2,917.11
2025
Daviess County Schools, KY
207
2025
Fairfax County Government Phase 3, VA
307.88
2025
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 8, VA
505.35
2025
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 7, VA
240.75
2025
Fairfax County Government Phase 3, VA
98.55
2024
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 9, VA
1,427.4
2024
Boyd County Public Schools, KY
418
2024
Fairfax County Government Phase 3, VA
98.55
2024
Greenbrier County Schools, WV
682.3
2024
Fairfax County Government Phase 2, VA
100
2023
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 5, VA
2,107
2023
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 4, VA
562.5
2023
Carroll County Schools, KY
96.76
2022
Clinton City Schools, NC
107.83
2022
Henderson County Schools, KY
156
2022
Lexington -Richland School District 5, SC
390
2022
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 3, VA
1,941.23
2022
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 2, VA
244
2022
Wood County Schools Phase 1, WV
300
2021
Rockcastle County Schools, KY
98.8
2021
Simpson College, IA
90.44
2021
Breckinridge County Schools, KY
132
2020
Loudoun County Public Schools Phase 1, VA
593
2020
Owensboro Public Schools, KY
762.57
2020
Big Sandy Community and Technical College, KY
34.56
2019
Jasper County Schools, SC
55.2
2019
Mineral County Schools, WV
299.65
2019
Warren County Public Schools Phase 1, KY
566.34
2018
Grant County Schools, WV
499.36
2018
b.
