Katherine G. Barnard
Director
City Council Members
City of South Bend
County -City Building
South Bend, Ind,
CITY of SOUTH BEND
ROGER 0.. PARENT,. Mayor
COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 16601
Dear City Council Members:
Neighborhood Code Enforcement
219/284.9486
219/284.9498
219/284.9803
March 9, 1982
The Neighborhood Code Enforcement office is requesting $11,000.00 in Federal
Revenue Sharing Funds to supplement the budget for the 1982 Summer Clean -up
Crew Program. The personnel costs will be paid by CETA from the Summer Youth
Program Fund. The Federal Revenue Sharing Funds will provide financial support
for equipment repair, rental of vans, gasoline and equipment. The Neighborhood
Code Enforcement office will administer the program.
This year the Neighborhood Code Enforcement office anticipates hiring 16 -18
crew members, one coordinator and one supervisor. The program has been scaled
down this year since CETA anticipates a decrease in funding for the summer
employment program.
The crews will be responsible for cleaning city owned lots, alleys and privately
owned lots that have been cited by the Neighborhood Code Enforcement office.
Thank you for your consideration of this appropriation.
Sincerely, 2_ _ _ n
Kathy Barnard, Director
Neighborhood Code Enforcement
