ORDINANCE NO._7'p �,?_S,? <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING <br />VARIOUS SECTIONS OF CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 7, <br />OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE OF THE CITY OF <br />SOUTH BEND, COMMONLY KNOWN AS BUDGETARY <br />PROCEDURES <br />STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br />On April 28, 1981 the Common Council passed Ordinance No. 6912 -81, <br />which established budgetary procedures. <br />The Council has found that these new procedures have proven to <br />be very helpful, and are a great improvement over the line -item budgets <br />which were submitted to the Council in the past. <br />The Common Council is introducing the following Bill in the hope <br />of further improving the budgetary procedures, and to set forth specific <br />prodcedures to be followed for Salary Ordinances. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, as follows: <br />SECTION I. The Municipal Code of the City of South Bend, Indiana, <br />is hereby amended by amending the following Sections of Chapter 2, <br />Article 7, Budgetary Procedures: <br />ARTICLE 7. Budgetary and Salary Procedures <br />Sec. 2 -87 Proposed Line -Item Budget <br />(d) Within each type of fund identified in the Proposed Budget, <br />the following information shall be included: <br />1) The "Budget Work Sheets Detailed by Account" for each Cost_ <br />Center shall include the following categories: Account <br />Number, Account Description, Previous Year Budget, Prior <br />Year Actual Disbursements. Current Budget. Reauested <br />se categories shall be completed by line -item. <br />-1 }2) The- BeBal -e€ All multi- funded employee positions shall <br />be included in the major cost center &R4- shall -be -- <br />designaBe8- by- {1- 'MV' -'37 A breakdown of the amounts and <br />sources of funding for such multi- funded positions in <br />the current and requested budget years shall be included <br />in the costs center in narrative form.
