This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. Council Member Puzzello reported that the Personnel and Finance Committee had met on this bill and recommended it to the Council favorable. Fire Chief Taylor made the presentation for the bill. He indicated this appropriation would be used to purchase an air compressor; replace Boat I; and pay the lease purchase for engine 3. BILL NO. 101 -93 A BILL APPROPRIATING $3,428,000 FROM THE COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUND FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE EXPENSES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AND DESIGNATED SUBGRANTEE AGENCIES FOR THE PROGRAM YEAR BEGINNING JANUARY 1, 1994, TO BE ADMINISTERED THROUGH THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. FUND OF THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITY AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TO THE DIVISION OF REDEVELOPMENT AND TO BUY -OUT THE REMAINING CDBG- FUNDED LOANS FROM THE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF ST. JOSEPH COUNTY. This being the time heretofore set for public hearing on the above bill proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. BILL NO. 103 -93 A BILL APPROPRIATING $1,050,000 OF SECTION 108 LOAN FUNDS, PLUS INTEREST EARNED THEREON, FOR USE IN THE SOUTH BEND HOUSING REHABILITATION INITIATIVE.
