REGULAR MEETING November 25, 2024 <br /> After the third(3`d) reading, Council President McBride requested a committee report. <br /> Councilmember Lee stated Substitute Bill No. 53-24 was heard in the Committee of the Whole <br /> and comes to the Full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Council Vice President Niezgodski motioned for the passage of Bill No. 53-24, seconded by <br /> Councilmember Lee, and carried by a vote of nine (9) ayes. <br /> Council President Sharon McBride—Aye Council Vice President Sheila Niezgodski—Aye <br /> Councilmember Canneth Lee—Aye Councilmember Ophelia Gooden-Rodgers—Aye <br /> Councilmember Troy Warner—Aye Councilmember Sherry Bolden-Simpson—Aye <br /> Councilmember Dr. Oliver Davis—Aye Councilmember Karen L. PURSUANT TO SECTION 4-51 <br /> OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE <br /> Clerk Tirado read the resolution to the Council. <br /> Council President McBride asked for a committee report. <br /> Councilmember Warner stated that this Bill was heard in the Community Investment Committee <br /> and comes to the Full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Erik Glavich, Director of Growth and Opportunity with offices on the 14th floor of the County- <br /> City building, stated that Pegasus National Inc., located at 1201 S. Sheridan Street, South Bend, <br /> IN, has submitted a new application for a Scrap Metal Dealer License. The application was <br /> submitted to the SBPD,the Fire Inspection Bureau,Neighborhood Services and Enforcement, and <br /> the Zoning Department for review and recommendation. Neighborhood Services and Enforcement <br /> reported that the property does not meet the fencing requirements established in the municipal <br /> code.The use would also be within one thousand feet(1,000)of an existing business,which would <br /> require a waiver approved by the Council. The Zoning Department reported that the intended use <br /> would be considered heavy industrial and would require a special exemption. The special <br /> 9 <br />
