PARENT, Mayor <br />COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />Members of the Council <br />Common Council <br />City of South Bend <br />Dear Council Members: <br />November 15, 1982 <br />219/284 -9322 <br />There will be presented for your consideration at first <br />readings of the November 22, 1982 Council Meeting an ordinance <br />approving a contract between the Board of Water Works Commissioners <br />and Ira C. Mast and Son Inc. in the amount of $62,975. If approved <br />this contract will enable us to begin the renovation of the North <br />Pumping Station including making necessary repairs and modifications <br />which are essential as a result of the flooding of that station <br />early in 1982. <br />The scope of work included in this phase concentrates on the <br />moving of the Instrumentation Room and Superintendents office to <br />an elevation above flood level. Also included are heating, <br />plumbing, and electrical changes necessary to accomodate this modi- <br />fication. After this phase is completed I anticipate moving ahead <br />with the equipment replacement based on bids to be taken at a <br />future time. <br />Funding has been included in the 1982 budget and, therefore, <br />I request your approval of this ordinance.
