HARRIS, Jr. <br />At Large <br />JOHN VOORDE <br />At Large <br />KATHLEEN CEKANSKI- FARRAND <br />Council Attorney <br />CITY ®f SOUTH BEND <br />COMMON COUNCIL <br />441 COUNTY -CITY BUILDING SOUTH BEND, INDIANA 46601 <br />January 19, 1983 <br />The South Bend Common Council <br />4th Floor, County -City Building <br />South Bend, Indiana 46601 <br />Dear Councilmembers: <br />Area 219 284 -9321 <br />The attached Bill would amend Section 2 -205 of the <br />Municipal Code of the City of South Bend relating to <br />advertisement costs for tax abatements, voluntary annexations, <br />and re- zonings. <br />You will recall that in 1980 an ordinance was passed <br />authorizing the City to charge for such expenditures. <br />However, the procedure as it presently exists, results in an <br />undue amount of bookkeeping by the City Clerk's office. <br />Thus in the effort to streamline this procedure and <br />to make it more efficient, I am requesting that the <br />ordinance be amended to require such a petitioner to remit <br />$100.00 at the time of filing a petition to cover such <br />advertising costs.
