Except as otherwise indicated, the workmanship of sheet metal work, method for <br />forming joints, anchoring, cleating and provisions for expansion shall conform to <br />the standard details and recommendations of the Copper Development <br />Association and the "Architectural Sheet Metal Manual" published by SMACNA; <br />and workmanship shall be of the best quality, in accordance with best trade <br />practice and the recommendations and specifications of the Sheet Metal and Air <br />Conditioning Contractors National Association, Inc. <br /> <br />8. Project Conditions: Coordinate work of this section with adjoining work for proper <br />sequencing of each installation to ensure best possible weather resistance and protection <br />of materials and finishes against damage. <br /> <br />B. Products <br /> <br />1. Materials: <br /> <br />a. The type and locations of the various kinds, gauges, thickness, and finish of sheet <br />metal to be used is specified hereinafter under the individual items. Where sheet <br />metal is indicated on Drawings and kind or type of metal is not definitely specified, <br />aluminum shall be provided. <br /> <br />b. Galvanized sheet metal shall be commercial quality with 0.20 percent copper, <br />ASTM A525 except ASTM A527 for lock forming; G90 hot dip galvanized, mill <br />phosphatized where indicated for painting; 20 gauge thick except as otherwise <br />indicated. <br /> <br />2. Miscellaneous Materials and Accessories: <br /> <br />a. Fasteners: Same metal as flashing/sheet metal or other non-corrosive metal as <br />recommended by sheet manufacturer. Match finish of exposed heads with material <br />being fastened. <br /> <br />b. Bituminous Coating: SS PC-Paint 12, solvent type bituminous mastic, nominally <br />free of sulfur, compounded for 15 mil dry film thickness per coat. <br /> <br />c. Mastic Sealant: One component, low-viscosity, self-wetting, butyl-blend mastic. <br /> <br />d. Elastomeric Sealant: Generic type recommended by manufacturer of metal and <br />fabricator of components being sealed and complying with requirements for joint <br />sealants. <br />1) One component polyurethane sealant, complying with ASTM C920, Type <br />S, Grade NS, Class 25 (non-sag). <br /> <br />e. Universal Single Ply Sealant: Solvent-free, one-part, polyether sealant that <br />provides a weather tight seal to a variety of building substrates. <br /> <br />f. Roofing Cement: ASTM D2822, asphaltic. <br /> <br />g. Epoxy Seam Sealer: 2-part non-corrosive metal seam cementing compound, <br />recommended by metal manufacturer for exterior/interior non-moving joints <br />including riveted joints. <br /> <br />h. Bonding Adhesive: Manufacturers standard high-strength, synthetic rubber <br />adhesive for bonding membrane to various surfaces. <br />
