General: <br /> <br />1. Related Documents: Drawings and general provisions of the Contract, including General <br />and Supplementary Conditions and Division 1 Specification Sections, apply to this Section. <br /> <br />2. Scope of Work: Section includes: <br /> <br />a. Special Definitions. <br /> <br />b. Methods of Specifying. <br /> <br />c. Substitution Procedures. <br /> <br />d. Substitution Request Form. <br /> <br />3. Definitions: <br /> <br />a. Standard of Quality: Specified manufacturers, materials, products, and equipment <br />have been used in preparing the Contract Documents and thus establish minimum <br />qualities for performance and appropriateness. <br />1) Materials, products, and equipment described in the Contract Documents <br />establish a standard of required function, dimension, appearance, and <br />quality. <br />2) Comply with specifications and reference standards as minimum <br />requirements. <br />3) Where a particular manufacturer and product is indicated, followed by a <br />description of the product (material and equipment) including special <br />features or performance criteria, the manufacturer shall agree to make <br />necessary modifications to their “Standard or Custom Products” to fully <br />comply with the product described. <br /> <br />b. Base Quote: Base on materials, products, and equipment described in the <br />Contract Documents. <br />1) Requests for substitutions shall be made to comply with the procedures <br />specified herein. <br />2) It is understood and agreed by Contractors, material suppliers, and their <br />subcontractors that quotes and contracts shall be based on products <br />(material and equipment) and processes as specified or as revised by <br />addenda or modification. <br /> <br />c. Substitutions: Requests for changes in products (materials and equipment) and <br />methods of construction required by the Contract Documents are requests for <br />“substitutions”, <br />1) The following are not defined as substitutions as used herein: <br />(a) Revisions to Contract Documents requested by Owner and <br />Architect. <br />
